Who we are
This website is run by Hyde Business Consulting Limited (trading as Hyde Bookkeeping & Business Consulting), a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 12994349.
We are the “data controller” for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about how we use your information, please email [email protected] or call 07590 063233.
The information we collect
We only collect the personal information you choose to give us, for example when you send an enquiry through our website, email us, call us or message us on WhatsApp. This may include:
- Your name
- Your email address and phone number
- The service you’re interested in
- Any details about your business that you include in your message
If you become a client, we will also hold the information needed to provide our services, such as your business’s financial records. How we handle that information is set out in your engagement letter.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange a discovery call
- Provide our bookkeeping and consulting services if you become a client
- Keep records we are required to keep by law
We will never sell your information, and we won’t send you marketing emails unless you have asked us to.
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on:
- Legitimate interests, to reply to enquiries you send us
- Contract, to provide services you have asked us for
- Legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or share certain information
Who we share it with
We only share your information where we need to, with trusted providers who help us run our business, such as our email and website hosting providers. If you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages are also handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
We may also share information where we are legally required to, for example with HMRC or other regulators.
How long we keep it
If you make an enquiry but don’t become a client, we keep your details for no longer than 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as needed to provide our services and meet our legal obligations, which for financial records is usually at least six years.
Cookies and website data
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our fonts are provided by Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers when you visit, and Google may receive your IP address. Our website host may also record basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and running smoothly.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it
- Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use your information

Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
